Hi i hope you can point me in the right direction,

Will the GT70 be much faster in gaming (crysis 3 , wot, war thunder, tomb raider)
than the GX70?

I purchased the GX70 a few days ago and the performance is great a bit of the time, its just the bits in between and the almost constant frame drops that are driving me insane. Ive already spoken to overclockers support team ( they are great ! :) ) any they are allowing me to rma the machine.

So what would you guys recommend as a more consistent replacement, the GT70 or something else?

I had a GX60 for a while with an A10 and 7970M and now have an Alienware with 7970M and i7 3720 and it's considerably better at gaming. The GX60 was ok but I noticed the same as you with random slow downs that could not be fixed by adjusting settings. The Alienware does not suffer from this at all so it can only really be the weaker AMD cpu.

Thanks for your reply MOOGLEYS

its good to know someone else also had the same issues, and that im not going mad or frame hungry.

i was thinking about the gt70 but it seems its the opposite, blazing fast cpu with a mediocre gpu :(

One of the OCUK custom laptops would be a better choice. If you grab the best CPU & GPU you can afford and the rest can then be upgraded over time.

There does seem to be a huge gap between notebook prices. If you want a decent CPU and GPU you need £1600 upwards for MSI. This is one of the reasons I went with Alienware and an outlet model. The i7 3720 & 7970M so far for me has been superb.
