The pills were found in the cover of the 18-certificate game

Four ecstasy pills have been found inside a computer game bought at a High Street store.

Richard Thornhill, 34, found the drugs under the front cover of X-Box game Grand Theft Auto IV, which he bought from Gamestation in Cheltenham.

12 year old lad, 18 rated game top parenting. :D

Omg cant believe they were mitsies! I currently live in Cheltenham as well and go in that Gamestation quite a bit. I reckon its probable the dude that originally traded the game forgot they were in there.

Why does buying a kid an 18 rated game make them bad parents?

Playing violent games doesn't do anything, if your kid can be easily influenced to replicate what it sees in fictional work then frankly they are gonna be a ******* nutter in life one way or the other.

Because age ratings are there for a reason? Just like you wouldn't allow a 12 year old to watch an 18 rated film at the cinema.

Age ratings will not stop a kid from turning into a nutter.

Fair enough if you think your kid will be scared out of its wits from watching Scream but from playing a game like GTA IV I don't see the big deal really.

And therein lies the problem - no one see's games as a legitimate problem! :/

Well if your kid is gonna turn into a nutjob after playing GTA for a few hours you are pretty screwed when they turn 18 and you can no longer limit what they play. (that's if they don't sneak the games past you in the first place)

Games really aren't the problem, it's down to the individual and if they can be influenced to commit acts of violence and what not from a fictional piece of work then they are probably gonna end up in some serious trouble at some stage.

I got GTA3 when I was 12 and was playing Silent Hill a few years before that, never did me any harm! But hey I could separate fact from fiction and right from wrong so nothing to worry about.

what i dont get is...

The pills were found in the cover of the 18-certificate game

"Inside the instruction booklet was a ball of Shrinkwrap, or Clingfilm. I thought it was just a ball of clingfilm, but then I realised there were tablets inside. I instantly felt sick."

now its one or the other mate, come on, you hid them there to earn a bit of cash off the news story ;)

so you'd happily let your kid play GTA4 or watch Saw ?

get lost and come back when you've grown up and actually have kids.

Yeah I'd let them play GTA, sure I wouldn't go out and randomly buy them it but if they showed interest in playing it (like I did) I wouldn't prevent them from doing so.

Saw is different, I wouldn't want them to watch something that could scare them to death and give them nightmares. (though again, I wouldn't prevent them if they really wanted to see it)

So take your "get lost" attitude and shove it up your arse. :p
