Firstly i can't get this social thing to work, even tho i've signed up and everything when i try to log it it says "invalid username". Password and e-mail are definitely correct. I can sign in to the website version but not the pop-up version which appears when starting the game

Also where is the AA in this game , no in game option for it

Get the lastest patch, 1.0.7, and you don't need to use Rockstar Social at all, you just click "Play (Offline)". You still need a "Games for Windows - Live" account though. :(

I bought GTA4 and EFLC from Direct2Drive and had similar problems with RSC and GFWL problems so in the end I got a cracked executable from **somewhere**

FFFFFFFFFFF DRM

ok from some google reading it seems the steam version is already at version 1.0.7

you don't need to use rockstar social update 1.0.7 made it a redundant feature

it also seems version 1.0.7 is not compatible with many/if any mods :(

New version 1.35 of ICEnhancer is almost out and apparently will work with 1.07 and EFLC...

that steam thread has pretty much solved all my modding questions i posted in the other GTA mods thread thats floating around here somewhere :)

I have massive, massive problems with this game at the moment.
My system is ridiculously fast; it gets over 10k on 3dmark11, it runs both Crysis games at 60+fps and generally, every single game I throw at it is a breeze. Except for this one...

To start with, I can't change any of the graphics settings - it's all stuck at 800x600 and low. I can get around this by using -nonrestricted in launch properties and this will then let me change to the proper settings. Except even on proper high settings, the game runs at 5-10 fps.

It's quite late and I'm pretty knackered after attending a funeral today so I haven't really looked into it any further. But it's very annoying. What a disaster.

:S i've not had any problems so far seems to be running between 30 and 60 FPS depending on how busy things are in game

what settings you using? i cant even get decent FPS in the benchmark with medium settings :(

this may be my drivers being special again, so will see if a driver reinstall is any good (running on beta drivers 285.38, so might see if non beta drivers help as well)

Ive got option for AA - im sure it let me do x16 iirc

Runs smack on for me, all on max settings no worries

BUT id like some spicy mods that make the thing look even better.

thats texture filtering, not AA, which i assume is something different but am happy to be proved wrong.
also, you could probably simulate the universe without any problems on your rig. i have ~1/4 of your graphics power because i'm poor :(

as for mods, enjoy: http://icelaglace.wordpress.com/

Just a couple of pointers...

It runs better on nvida than ATI (sorry I know that doesn't help much).

It does take advantage of SLI but not (I don't think) Crossfire. I had it running at around 50fps on 2x 8800GTs a while ago (on an i7 920 at 3.6GHz).

It was still GPU limited then and could only use medium textures because of the 512MB VRAM. I could however have everything at 100% - EXCEPT shadows. Setting shadows to Very High killed the frame rate to well under 20. They look almost as good on just "high" anyway.

Realistically you need quad core and 4GB+ RAM. And 1GB for VRAM for high textures.

Yes that's anisotrpoic filtering level. Doesn't seem to affect performance much so I use x16. You notice the difference on distant yellow lines and zebra crossings as an example, expecially if you have higher res textures.

I'm currently running ICEnchancer 1.25 on EFLC - it's not fully compatible but is good enough for me - the new 1.35 apparently works properly. I also have the "beter city textures" 7GB download. Does look better but I prefer the original trees. These 2 mods do slow the frame rate but it's still playable 15-30fps on a 3GHZ Q6600 and 1GB 460 GTX.

give me i min i will print screen my settings

Just thought i know what your problem is VRAM, you will need to keep your settings so the numbers are below 768 in the setting menu mine says 1000 something of 2022 well thats your VRAM
