What kind of FPS are people getting with GTA 4?

anywhere between 30-60 with everything on highest settings 1680-1050 except draw distance which is still impossible to max out till they make the game support sli or they make a single gpu with 1.5 gigs of vram or more. game very playable the constant shifting of fps causes some stutter though - would be smoother if you could limit the fps to 30

Yeah the reason I asked was because of this stutter you mention.My system suffers from it too though it should be able to run this game easily.

Blame ATi's drivers or Rockstar's coding for ATI GPU's, my 8800 spanks my 4870 in this game, its a night and day difference ! Smooth as butter as opposed to stuttery crap FPS fest.

1920x1200 higher settings with some tweaks so it looks no different to the absolute highest. shadows ion high.

Get 30-50fps depending on where the action is.

Smooth either way even 25fps+ which the latest patch sorted.
