GTA 5 Freezes and crashes

I have recently downloaded and installed GTA 5 via steam and it freezes and crashes during gameplay.

I have all the latest drivers installed, I have done verify integrity of game files, all is ok.

Can someone help me?

You tried benchmark in game? does any other game lock up and crash? you tried seeing how much gpu usage/memory/cpu usage is being utilised?
Need more info, CPU, RAM, GPU?

Just this game.

3770k
8gb ram, ddr3
1060 gtx 6gb
P8z77 motherboard.

If on steam, I'd try completely uninstalling the game, there's some good guides online, but make sure you backup save files. And then reinstall, this was the only way to fix the game for me when i had issues a few weeks ago.
