Evening fellas,

Could you guys please help me decide if I need to upgrade my card for GTA 5.

Currently have MSI R6970 with a Arctic extreme iii and my monitors native is 2560 x 1440

Do you think I would be able to run the game with reasonably high settings and a decent framerate?

I'm sure I will get trolled for asking about a game that's not even been released yet but I was hoping you smart cookies would be able to give me something to go on.

Thanks.

Thanks for the rapid responce, Yea I just wondered if anyone might have some solid info to go on.

I'm tempted to take the plunge and get a R 290x so I can have the best experience possible.

(It's not a coincidence my username is Rockstar, I love the GTA series)

295x2 and you expect to only just be able to get ultra?

Assuming the game is coded well I kind of assumed one 290x would be plenty for ultra.

Maybe I'm dreaming.

I have recently re-played all of the GTA's on PC for the first time and I know what you mean they were very bad ports.

I am under the impression (or illusion) that this one will be different as its had a lot more time and money poured into it.

As a side question, Does anyone know if a Raijintek Morpheus can fit a 6970?

There's a 290x for sale that comes with the Raijintek cooler if it does fit my 6970 I can keep my Arctic iii as its forward compatible with the 290x.
