I may be going senile but I'm sure when I played through it on the PC years ago, it had a first person view which you could use the whole time? Yet trying the game now, I can't work out how to do it? Can anyone help? There is a command to change camera view but it simply swaps between third person and overhead (GTA I/II style).

Afair, the first person view is only available in cars (all the time) and on foot for selected weapons (e.g scopes on sniper rifles).

I remember its odd, throwback-to-2d-GTAs top-down view, but I don't remember there ever being a first-person mode.

all I remember is that you could right click on certain weapons for FPS view

don't think there's a first person view. I've been playing it recently and the only first person view i have found is when your in the car.
