GTA iv 64 bit vista incompatible problem????

I bought gta on release and had it working on 32bit xp, however, since ive updated to vista 64bit it won't let me isntall it, says that it is incompatible with 64bit etc...

Ive read people say to try it in xp sp2 compatibility mode and that usually works for people, however, its not working for me

I cannot speak for Vista 64 bit, but GTA 4 works perfectly on my Windows 7 64 bit setup, so not sure what the issue would be.

My retail version worked on Vista 64 with no real problems,

Win7 64 now and works perfectly

It won't start on my Win 7 x64 OS. Steam version. I've tried the Steam Forums Sticky that has loads of help but nothing works,

On mine it gives an xp sp 3 error which relates to .net. Seems to be the rockstar lounge being logged in when starting the game that causes most issues.

Start game without logging into this and it works but hit and miss how long I can play it for.

i havent had a problem with x64 running gtaiv or gta iii for that matter. does it actually say wrong os in the message, because thats what i get the few times i've had 64 bit compatibility issues, or does it just say gta iv has stopped working?

Same here, Win7 64-bit retail and works perfect for me too.

GTA4 does not like it if Rapport is installed that you can get from NatWest Online Banking. Could that be your problem?

That was the most immense bloatware I had ever installed to be honest.

Win 7 x64 user here, GTAIV works wonderfully!

Steam version works fine on vista-64 and 7-64, maybe you didn't tab to the firewall in the background and allow it network access?
