i recently changed my grphx card to the one in my sig it has the most recent drivers installed, when i have gone to play GTA IV today all the grphx settings are reset to lowest with res of 800x600.

Instantly i have a message saying resource usage 202/3075mb, warning settings exceed current systems resources change settings now.

i cannot change the settings at all. The game worked when i had my old card in which was a GTS 250

anyone know how to solve this problem i cannot find any fix online :S

Thanks
Dan

Put -norestrictions in the launch properties on Steam, if not Steam, put at the end of the Target line in the .exe properties.

1. Browse to the directory where you installed the game to and create a shortcut to Launchgtaiv.exe on the desktop.
2. Right click the shortcut and add the –norestrictions switch at the end of target field (leave a space after the closing quotes , add –norestrictions and press ok).
3. Start the game using the shortcut. You should now be able to change the graphics settings.

Get the 1.0.7.0 patch, HD Road textures, ENBbyVuckov4.5 and trees_textures_mod_vanni83_v1_2...

Heres how I got mine looking. I tried a car pack but had problems with sirens, taxis etc

The amount of detail in the game is outstanding to say you can go into restaurants, subways, houses...

Those mods look awesome is it easy to install the mods?

Yep pretty easy.

Install GTA4 > 1.0.7.0_Patch > Ultimate Textures v2.0 > HD Road textures > gta4_trees_textures_mod_vanni83_v1_2 > ENBbyVuckov4.5

There are ones to make it look even better but with the above its actually playable (~30fps on i5@4ghz, 8gb ram, GTX570) This is with everything maxed in the graphics options and 2560 x 1440 res)

Getting a GTX670 next week so I think it will be a lot more playable in the res I play at. 1080p runs great but looks rubbish compared to 1440p
