Oh well, my excitement is short lived for playing GTA IV

Played it last night on my 360, within 15 mins I was nauseaous and had to switch it off and felt sick afterwards even laying down in a dark room!

So annoying, this has stopped me enjoying 99% of all FPS/TPS style games.

I couldn't even play HL2, Halo, GoW etc etc

For some reason Battlefield 2 on the PC seems to be the only FPS game I can play for short periods without feeling sick!

Anyone else suffer from this?

I know there is something about taking a dramamine before playing those sorts of games, but I can't see how that would work...

You should count yourself lucky you didn't get as far as driving drunk then, that makes me feel pretty light-headed and I don't even suffer from motion sickness.

carmageddon 2 in drugs or drunk mode was pretty mental..!

how do people 'beat' motion sickness, is it just a case of forcing yourself to do it? (like fighter pilots?)

I had this leaving the cinema after watching Cloverfield.

Shame really, how about trying something completely random and wearing 3D glasses?

try it on a totally different make of tv with different refresh rates, and then try a 100hrz plasma, this is caused by someone with sensitive reactions to light and refresh rates and certain frequency's, try all this and report back

Thats probably the best effect in the game!

Very realistic when driving!!!

Back on topic, I sometimes get MS when playing HL games, any of them... not always though... wish I knew why..

I get motion sickness playing any FPS such as half life, medal of honor etc so i tend to avoid playing them.

GTA4 has been ok for me apart from trying to drive while niko is drunk and occasionally when running up/down spiral staircases.

I'm glad this was posted, i can hardly play gta4 because i feel so sick after about 15minutes.

One level had you going up and up stairs to get to the top of a building, i had to turn it off after that, felt so sick :(

lol as someone above has said i found the drink driving bits very very strange. Never felt like i did after watching that simply by watching the tele.

Annoying thing is, Im not interested in the single player mode, I only want to play games multiplayer online, I hate playing single player.

But can't even do that :'(

I might try the seaband, or taking a dramamine, but I cannot see how it would work, but shall see.

As technology gets more and more advanced, more games are becoming 3d etc, so surely something has to give!

try playing a smaller screen or further away, give your eyes something to use as reference outside of the screen

The mission where you drive back drunk was very strange! Never ever felt dizzy watching or playing a game on the TV
