GTA IV on 360 or PS3

Hey all

Love the GTA series, and cant wait for GTA IV

The question is, do I get it on the 360 or the PS3? I would prefer it on the PC, but as I dont want to wait 2 years to play the game it looks like I will have to buy a console (ie i dont own either a 360 or a PS3 yet).

Heard the 360's progressive loading makes it faster, plus gfx and audio are better, plus the console is about half the price of the ps3, BUT I dont really want a 360 as I wont play any other games on it.

However for the PS3 I will use it for GT5, MGS4 etc, plus the blu-ray, BUT double the price of the 360 :(

Just wondered what peoples opinions were
 
Er... if you don't want an Xbox 360 what's the problem? The game is identical on both systems by all accounts. Get a PS3!

Gah, I reckon you'll get that DLC free with the PC version (which will probably be Games for Windows Live).

If its games for windows live, and ms have anything to do with it, you will probably need a live gold subscription and i bet you will have to pay for the downloadable stuff.
 
I would hazard a guess that the audio and graphics would be exactly the same on both consoles. Also rockstar have stated that both consoles have no loading screens after you've started the game. The only difference worth really worrying about is do you want the DLC or not.

Also if you want to take advantage of the DLC you'll need a xbox360 premium which is £190, PS3s can be had for £250 if you look hard enough, so not quite double the price.

From what i can gather from links to articles people have posted on here is the gfx are slightly (very very slightly) better on the PS3.
Also GTAIV doesn't have any loading times so the point is moot.

Look at the games on the systems and pick from that. If you play games on the PC, chances are you will be able to play all the 360 exclusives anyway (since with the xbox exclusive usually means on the 360 and PC)

Only you can decide mate.
 
I have also read that the streets are more populated on the PS3 version, not by much mind. The article said up to about 10 more peds and about 4 cars at any time extra.

Bit annoying for me as I love busy streets but I have a 360.

That was from the "fake" review. Also due to the dynamic nature of the environment, very hard to measure in a scientific way.

while i own both consoles, i'll have the 360 version for gamer score.

as for your problem, you answered it yourself.
 
Xbox 360 lol the amount ms paid for the dlc its not going to be rubbish i wouldnt think! And who knows they may still be releasing content a year from now.

Not true at all, the PS3 has better graphics according to both a rockstar interview and EGM magazine.
