This is for the people who avoid the main huge GTA IV thread. Perhaps a summary can be put in here, otherwise mods delete if you're bothered.

No real increase in performance here, just more flexibility of settings, though the fix for triggers on 360 wireless pad is very good.

No discernible difference in performance here either. With the mention of rendering optimisations, and extra settings you can theoretically turn down to increase performance, it hasn't done anything for me. I haven't tried it at night or in the rain yet - perhaps the patch improves performance then, I don't know.

oh they are going to allow us to use our controllers to control the game....so kind of them.
abt bloody time lol.

Not so, the requirements for GFW say that if the game supports controlpads then it must support the 360 controllers. Doesn't say that the game can't also support other controllers though.

i was experiancing a problem with this game once i installed patch if i went into options. all the slider options i select just went to 0 i thought it was 360 pad so unplugged it and still done it :( is this the bug they fixed?

I can now get the game to run at 1280x800 in a glorious 7 frames per second with everything at low or 1. I can literally count the frames myself. LOL.

LOL. I'm only having a giraffe - one can't expect the game to run decently on an nVidia 8600M GT mobile GPU with only 256MB DDR2 RAM.

It would be nice to be able install and play it without all the Windows Live/Social Club rubbish.

I've never known a game come with so much annoying and unnecessary bloat.

Wow I don't know where to begin. Having installed the second patch the game now only works for 20 seconds before hard crashing my PC and on reboot my graphics card has now suddenly begun to experience a low-power fault (three solid red LED lights on a 4870) and not even boot. This is after months of working flawlessly in any game thrown at it with no other hardware changes.

I also attempted a reinstall of GTA IV but have now lost my save games as they were inexplicably removed without prompting when I uninstalled the game.

Shocking, just shocking.
