GTA IV Quick Question

I've been motoring away through GTA IV of late and I have a question.

Are your 5 friends (those which are vital to the Liberty City [5] trophy/achievement) still around after you complete the game? In other words, can you still get the trophy/achievement? I wonder because I am trying to complete the game under 30 Hours and still have a few friends to get above 90% on the "like" meter. I don't know if I have enough time to do them all.

Yes they are. Its the 5 friends you have at the end of the game

What about these 9 Assasination missions? Do I have to do them now or can they wait until after I finish or are they integral to the story?

You can do the assassination missions after you have finished the main story

You can do all of the non story related tasks after the main story is finished.

I completed this a few weeks ago. Didn;t bother with any trophies during the storyline mode. I am assuming a few items cannot be completed after the main story? I am sure there was some sort of trophy called "Finding Roman's Cab's secret" or something, which I cannot do now the story has ended, for spoilerish reasons.

That achievement pops up when you earn the ability to call roman for a cab which you should get at the start of the game without much effort. The other cab related achievement is to take a ride from one side of the city to the other (ie. over an island) This can be done when you finish the game by hailing a regular cab, but you cannot skip the journey.

Bah

I never used any of Roman's cabs. I had loads of cash and it was usually quicker to just hail a yellow cab. I think there was another one like this where you use a service one of your friends offers you that I missed as well.

If you have a save before the final missions you could always go back

Just 1 save. I don't mind, I just got the main trophies as I played along. Just sucks a bit that certain stuff cannot be done after the main story, as it gives me a tiny bit less reason to continue playing
