As title?

In Steam library I have GTA IV and also GTA episodes from...

Do i need to install both (that's over 30gb!)

Thanks.

I purchased both of those. I've only downloaded gta 4 so far but when i start the game, i have to choose gta 4 or episodes before I can play

Yeah, this happens with my GTA IV. But I don't know how it works. I have the retail GTA IV and the steam version of liberty city. Yet when I go onto gta iv and click liberty city, it doesn't work
Liberty city works as a standalone though

I still maintain that Games for Windows Live needs to be put to rest.

I can't seem to play GTA IV (on PC) without running in to problems with it, I've sat down just now to spend my day off playing GTA IV again and merrrrh.

Never, ever had a problem with GfWL. I would suggest you sort out whatever it is on your build that's causing the problem.

the "episodes" option in the main GTA IV menu is only meant for people who purchased the downloadable content from GFWL. the GFWL version requires GTA IV already installed and it's roughly 3-4GB per episode as opposed to the 15+ required for the standalone episodes from retail DVD or steam. you can't launch the steam/retail episodes from the GTA IV menu.

I've had a lot of problems with Games for Windows live.

It fails to update / doesn't install properly and then once installed won't start up properly.

Unistalled. Games shouldn't be this much hassle. It's the only game / games platform I continue to have problems with.

Thanks for the replies. Seems a detailed issue! Still not sure what i want to do though, being not very familiar with the later GTA's and all.
