Hi, I recently installed a Samsung 830 SSD as a boot drive, but now GTA IV doesn't want to start. I have it installed to my HDD under its own Program Files folder since I want to save space on the SSD. It used to work fine before the SSD and it also worked fine with the SSD before I patched it (which I think is necessary for MP) so I don't know why it isn't working. Basically, I click GTA IV which takes me to the 'Login to Social Club' window with the options to cancel, play offline or play at the bottom. Clicking either of play or play offline just causes the disk to spin but nothing loads. Thanks :)

Also, as I found out after 2 hours of banging my head against the wall, MSI afterburner also stops it from working with the d3d hooks.

Yeah, GTA IV was a dodgy console port and has been known to have many issues, but it seems to work at last. I had to make a norestrictions text file in the GTA IV folder under Programs (x86) to allow me to change graphics settings, graphics cards with 2Gb+ Vram have this problem. Until then, it seemed to think my computer was only capable of running at lowest settings at 800 x 600 resolution. Hopefully GTA V will have less problems than GTA IV...
