Got this problem started to occur today, where whenever i try to play GTASA my player permenantly runs toward the screen.

Reinstalled.
Delete saves, profiles etc.
Unplugged keyboard and moved it to a different port. (Still continues to run without the keyboard plugged in  )

Only thing thats changed is 2 MS security updates this morning and i installed the mouse drivers last night for the side button.

Played last night before bed so pretty sure drivers not at fault.

Only thing that leaves me is the 2 updates, but that makes no sense for them to cause a problem in GTASA, even since i reinstalled it.

Any ideas?

The only time i get this is when i start the game without moving the joystick on my xbox 360 controller. Once I move it then it goes back to normal.

Any chance you have a joypad connected to your PC?

Never got it fixed, uninstalled all drivers, including mobo etc......

Was unable to get rid of the problem, tried sys restore to, but that didnt help either.

Reinstalled windows with different drivers and have yet to test it, but i'll see if it pops up again.

However i did get some hard drive inconsistency errors from windows when it booted first time after the fresh install.

The problem was my storage drive, which has no correlation with my OS or Game installs, its an independant drive.

Thought perhaps the OC did it, but i've had issues at stock and underclocked so inclined to think its a driver/software incompatiblity somewhere along the line. Hopefully!!........ using different drivers and a clean install will keep me going longer.

Well 2 reinstalls of XP later, tried pretty much everything.....

Until for the sake of trying someone suggest changing the keyboard.

Eureka!!..... problem disappeared. Weird considering even after unplugging the keyboard the games still played up. Loaded game after changing the kb though and it seemed to fix it.

Shame just picked it up cheap on the MM and its a nice KB.

Oh well back to the comfort curve. :D

Wierd solution....

Anytime this has happenend to me in any of the rockstar games running from that engine (GTAIII/VC/SA/Manhunt) it's simply a case of unplugging joysticks/joypads until the erratic behaviour stops :)

Anyone playing GTA games on a PC and using a joypad (!) has obviously lost the plot already :p

Yeah thats what my buddies said, and i had thought that initially, it happened to happen on the one day i was sorting cables and had the thing unplugged so i knew it wasnt that.

Strange problem really, gonna test the kb on another PC just to be sure, but for now everything is how it should, minus that i'm on the old kb again... :(
