is it possible to get the multiplayer mod for gta san andreas for the steam version ?

IIRC, the MP mods only work with the unpatched version, though it's been a while since I looked into it. There was a way to downgrade the steam version I believe.

It has to be version 1; it won't work with 1.01, 2.0 or 3.0, which means downgrading it. Try this:
