GTA: San Andreas - User Tracks problem!!!

Bought GTA: San Andreas on steam and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing through it again, to keep me occupied until GTAIV comes out.

Anyway, I had a go at moving a couple of MP3 files into the My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files\User Tracks folder and they worked fine in game. So I went through my MP3 collection and copied 52 tracks to the User Tracks folder, but now, when I access the user tracks station in game, I only get the adverts playing one after another and none of my music.

Anyone got any ideas what I have done wrong???
 
I maybe wrong here, but from memory I think you only put shortcuts in the folder to the mp3 tracks on your hard drive, rather than putting the actual mp3s in there, thats what I seem to remember anyway
 
easy, goto that auto find track option (whatever its called) set to NO, then rescan tracks (do this before loading into a game) this should sort it

edit: i found this option was always buggy so its best off :)

I'll be returning to SA any day now to relive those good memories. It was an awesome game that I love to bits :) The user tracks feature is a finicky bugger though, sometimes you need to scan a good couple of times before it picks up your tracks.
 
I love this game too, play on the pc with a ps2 pad, love the radio stations in the game they crack me up! Sometimes games have problems with long file names when it comes to using user sound files, it might be worth putting shortcuts to your songs in the GTA folder, then renaming the shortcuts so they have very short file names - highlight them all, then right click and rename (should rename all the shortcuts in one go).

iv done that :D im on my 3rd time thru the game now, its really just the end bit i dont like that much wear u pick up sweet from the prision and he 'drags' u back to the ghetto :(

just stock up with the minigun at torenos ranch (after doing the vertical bird mission) and the last few levels are a breeze. :D

i must admit it wore me down when i 100% finished the game - taking over all the territory is so ******** tedious it's untrue. :(

yup, my music is on a different drive too. :)
 
i know about the minigun, but even with that i 'attepted' to take everything over after completion but it was just toooo boring!!!! think i got about 50% before calling quits :)

i first time round onnoyed me abit wen they introduce the territorys really early in the game so i took a few over only to find i lost them at the end of the game and had to start with nothing again :(
