GTA: Vice City

Thinking about getting this off Steam, just a couple of questions about it;

Whats the highest res the game can be played at?

Are there many mods for it for graphics etc?

Not too sure on vice and gta III, vice has a ''widescreen'' option though which makes the aspect ratio 16:9...

GTA SA needs the patch for high reso's like 1920x1080 but has 16:9 support too. 16:10 with a third party fix.

EDIT: VC does 1920x1080 for me.

1600x1200. I'm sure you could modify that though.

Theres some mods that are good iirc. I think it can do high res ok most of the gta games do.

Vice City used to screw up my sound royaly.
Everything sounded like a high pitched squeal/whine.

Anyone with any ideas what could be causing it?

Sound Blaster 5.1 Live! sound card.

Errrr? I just checked and my vice city is running 1920x1080 fine...
SA with the patch also supports this res natively.

This monitor only goes up to 1600x1200, maybe that'll be why

Think when ever you play gta 3 or vice or both and if you have 5.1 setup it will always turn to quad speaker in windows setup or worse you always have to reset it back. Very annoying. Just saying incase you have 5.1 sound.

I run GTA3 at 1680x1050 so Vice City can almost certainly do the same. I think it detects what resolutions your gfx/monitor driver has available.
