It worries me slightly that they didn't show the Playstation 3 version (although of course they said that they are going to shortly). I want to get it for the Playstation 3. I'm not particularly bothered by the "extra content" coming for the Xbox360 version. I want my console to be quiet when playing this game and the Xbox360 DVD drive is just too loud for me. I can bear it in some games where there are greandes, guns and explosions constantly (COD 4 springs to mind) but not in a game like this where I'm going to hear the DVD drive more ofen than not.

I really don't get this problem, two of my friends have (close to) launch day consoles and when the volume is turned up its really no different than having a pc on. Then again, I did own a dreamcast.

You will chose the volume of the machine over the downloadable content? Really? It really doesn't bother me who buys it for whatever reason... but that just seems pretty stubborn and questionable logic.
 
I think some people just have different noise tolerance levels. I'm still waiting to find out what extra content there will be. I actually haven't finished VC or SA so unless the vanilla GTAIV is shorter than previous iterations, then DLC probably won't affect me.

Edit: Wtf 4 pages long :eek: Great preview though. Game sounds great as I'd expected.

i'm gettting the ps3 version for the very same reason. After 2 years my 360 rarely gets turned on anymore as the noise after 2years drives me bonkers. Again like him the extra content although nice i probably wouldn't get anyway as i've never completed any GTA game to warrent extra content in the 1st place.
 
I'm gonna wait till closer to release date to decide. There will be subtle differences between the versions, I am sure. The DLC may well be the dealbreaker for me though. I am still holding onto some belief that there will be different content for the ps3. Something that was mentioned andopenly talked about much earlier in the games history, but recently everything seems hush hush, (since the delay).

The noise will annoy me a lot I imagine (I always turn music off in games and even the radio in GTA gets boring after a while), but as everyone always says, it is about the gameplay, and if the DLC enhances that, then that's where my hard earned bucks are going too.

If you asked me 2 years ago if I though I would be actively choosing to play the benchmrk GTA game this gen on a non Sony machine I would have laughed at you (and maybe given you a slap). But MS have done well with this coup. (Hell even if the DLC is like 50 new hidden packages I will be excited!!!)

GTA4 + DLC is gonna be huge.

i want gta4 but im a pc gamer, cant stand the noise from 360, iv had noisy pcs in the past and iv got a dreamcast, it just annoys me, not everyone wants to crank the volume up to mask the noise of the console either.
Would prefer ps3 but worried incase it runs shoddy like other ports, or the extra content is worth having.
Was there any word about a PC port?
 
When's it due out?
I would also like to see some in-game shots, especially one where he's fighting some cops


BTW... What does HOMG mean? :/
