GTA4 not much more graphically advanced

What are you comparing GTA4 to? If its games on the PS3 or 360 then fair enough, no it doesn't look better than any other whole host of titles. Comparing it to other GTA's and it's leaps and bounds ahead!

how does the gfx compare with Saints Row ?

GTA4 looks much, much better than Saints Row. It's quite painful going back and playing SR when you've played GTA4 for extended periods of time now.

SR isn't bad graphically, it looked good when it came out and looked better than GTA3/SA/VC... but you can tell it's a few years old now.

I've got to say, although its a sandbox game and the GFX are improved, they wern't as impressive as I was expecting.

I also argree with the OP in that the handling stinks, although you get used to it after a while

Well, come November, anybody who has a gaming PC will be able to try it with mouse and keyboard if they don't like the controls, and a higher framerate, and higher res! :)

I personally found the console versions to be pretty good.
I thought the handling of the cars was great, once you get used to it you can fly about with ease. The graphics I thought were good, considering the sandbox nature of the game, but I guess you'll always have the naysayers and nitpickers.

Anyway, PC version should sort out the graphical problems, and allow mouse and keyboard, as well as 360 pad, so you can take your choice.

Vin.

I must say that although GTA4 IS much more graphically advanced than San Andreas i think the 360 graphics on this game are poor.

I was actually really suprised at just how bad it looked, and yes i do have a HDTV and all other titles on the 360 look stunning on it.

Graphics are okay, but was expected a little bet better, but hey, its got great game play (even if the story does get a little bit same old same old).

Try playing the PS3 version, I have both a PS3 and 360, and for reasons I won't go into had GTA IV for both for a short period of time. I felt that the 360 version was far superior to the PS3 version in terms of graphical quality.
