If someone has both consoles I would say its wrong and no doubt I will be proved right once the content is out.

Not really saying he's wrong, just that ps3 loyals will potentially be missing out on a hefty chunk of ore GTA goodness. I think fanboyism is wrong in that term.

Although I agree with the friends thing.

And at no point is he guaranteed better experience on the Xbox360, so he's hedging his bets by going for something he's familiar with. He's played the past versions on PS2 and Xbox, he preferred the PS2 version, so he's going to do it again isn't he.

Nothing wrong with that at all?

TBH in my opinion it will be a better experience on the 360 simply because of the exclusive DLC.

153..enough to play online with :D

I mean't real life friends (If you only play online with randoms and people from the forum then the 360 version is better too). Obviously there will be more people on xbox live overall with the game but I don't know those folk :)

You don't know what it is yet and how much it will cost, no-one does. So it is hard to see what your opinion is based on but it is your opinion, nonetheless. ;)

btw the mods seem to have done something to your sig, are you in the market for a new one :)

Times are changing, the playstation brand is experienceing more competition than ever. This is an amazing thin for MOST people, however those with fanboy like beliefs will ultimately miss out on some quality games.

In this case they miss out on a large chunk of content to one of the most anticipated games ever.

Fair enough if your a casual gamer, owning one console, but youd think on a dedicated internet forum it would be mostly GAMERS.

 So what now im not a gamer because i think GTA is a playstation game?

Competition is good, whats your point? I own a 360 and a Wii, Im especially looking forward to Ninja Gaiden 2, but that doesnt take away the fact that i think GTA is a PS game.

Getting upset over my opinion doesnt really do you much favour against the fanboy term youve been throwing around so much.

If GTA DLC is good, which its likely to be, then ill get the 360 version then, but the for the time being ill be happy with the PS3 version, for disclosed reasons as this makes me a fanboy.

so what you're saying is loyalty > content.

Sony love (and rely) on people like you. lol.

gta is originally a pc game
brought to console to make money
i dont see how anyone can say a game belongs to one brand anyway

Because it was Sony's console that made GTA what it is. It's Sony's console that allowed the public to easily access it, play it and financially fund the series. This is obvious.

GTA wouldn't be where it was had Sony not put everything into pushing GTA3, GTA: VC and GTA: SA.

Nope, saying it could potentially affect some peoples gaming experience in the long run, not just GTA specifically though.

Competition is good, whats your point?

my point is its a good time to be a gamer, didnt I already cover this?

Getting upset over my opinion doesnt really do you much favour against the fanboy term youve been throwing around so much.

Not getting upset, just trying to make the point that there will be a lot of people turning to microsoft come August.

Whatever console anyone gets it on they will love the game, but I'm sure most people see and understand that Microsoft have made a considerable effort to secure more GTA.

Not necessarily.
He prefers the PS controller.
He probably has more IRL friends with a PS3.
He probably has more online friends with a PS3.
He might not own Xbox Live Gold.

Those are 4 major reasons he could be getting the Playstation 3 version. Content or not, playing with friends online will likely always take priority. I know it does with me.

conversely loyalty > content no-one knows anything about

The bolded one is my main reason.

Quoted for truth. Why do some many people who claim to be gamers fail to understand this? I played all the ones before ps2 as well, but ps2 is when it hit big (be that through money, marketting, hype, controversy, whatever. It is silly to think Sony did not have some part (probably a very big one) in that.
Mods did something to my sig a while back. Could I have one pretty please? ;)
All I meant was copy my sig (for a week). All the cool kids are, and I swear I only asked about half of them too :)

what did sony put in to those games?
its a pc game at birth no idea why people think it belongs on consoles
its always been better on pc

PS3 because I don't have a 360, or even a broken one.
I'm not going to get it until I've finished all my exams in May though because I would probably spend too much time on it.

These games were not big and did not reach humongous audiences till they appeared on ps1 (overhead ones) and ps2 (3d ones). Both Sony consoles and this is when the games got big in the mainstream. There were even campaigns against the game and questions in Prime Ministers Question time. This would not have occurred if it remained a PC game with a relatively small elitist audience.

No-one is saying they are not better on pc. I can imagine if the same games came out now on PS3 and PC only the PC version would be better but would sell less.

That statement makes no sense.

End of the day, the grand theft auto series achieved such a high reputation mostly due to it's outings on the PS2 and to a lesser extent the PS1.

gta was released on pc sold well was a cult hit and they took it to console
