GTAV High GFX Temp

I have an MSI 290. GTAV is making my graphics card go as hot has 95C.

It's not overclocked, no dust and I have good air flow in my case. Why's it getting so hot?

Very strange shouldn't be that hot. Played for about 4 hours last night my max temperature was 82

What temps do you get if you run the heaven benchmark on absolute max settings, on a loop for 10 mins or so?

For me heaven always gives me higher temperature than playing games. It pushes the GPUs much harder i believe.

I was playing for 3 hours yesterday and my room was absolutely boiling (sun shines in here), and my card only hit 76c with pretty much everything on max and a slight overclock too.

MSI card here, not the double fan one though.

Would it be worth trying to apply new thermal paste

Got two one is msi 290x gaming edition and 290 gaming edition.

Both never pass 85c when gaming.

Are you using the stock fan profile? If so.. change that!

Most use MSI Afterburner. You can overclock your card while you are there too!

Stock fan profile here.. But my case setup the GPUs have full air from the front fans. Corsair carbide 540

I've ramped the fan up so when it's above 80c it's 90%. Temps still hitting 88c though

Can you post a image of your case? How is your intake and out take setup?
The out take is very important.

I can't take a picture right now but my case is an Antec One gaming case. Cable management is decent

Front fan is intake, top fan is blowing out, exhaust is obvious, side fan is blowing out

Wouldn't it be better to have the side fan as an intake blowing cold air at the card then exiting out the top? Or take the side panel off

OK because your front fans is blocked by hard drive cages that side fan really should be intake.

No difference still climbing up to 88c

Maybe this is just a normal temp for the MSI 290's as they are known to run hot

Well we both have 290's and neither of us are getting temps that high? One of which is the same card as you!

What are the fans running at? Maybe turn them up to provide more flow in the case?
