Firstly hello, I'm new to the forum but intend to stick around!

Approx 4 years ago I bought myself a Gaming PC, it has done me well and still runs perfectly, however i'm starting to get the impression a few components will not cut the mustard for the newest generation graphics engines.

I'm planning on buying GTA V, I only play on a 23' IPS monitor (No 4K), but I was wondering what components you would suggest I upgrade in order of need?

Budget wise, i'm fairly open.. however Ideally I would spent a few hundred per month and upgrade over a few months.

Any help of suggestions would be much appreciated.

My initial impressions are a Motherboard Upgrade, followed by CPU, then GPU? However what upgrades to go for i'm a bit lost with, i've been out of the hardware game for a few years.

it depends how well rockstar port the game,

remember gta iv? ran like treacle no matter what hardware

all those components look fine to me tbh

Doubt that cooler fits in your case.

So a normal air cooler of a smaller 120/140mm AIO will fit.

And that saves money to get you a GTX980 and the OcUK reference cooler one is £449.

Max GPU/PCI Card Length 270mm / 10.63 in

Seems your case doesnt have all that much room, so pick your card if you get one carefully.

Unless its a scout 2?

Max GPU/PCI Card Length 287 mm / 11.3 in with HDD cage
399 mm / 15.7 in without HDD cage

If what you have in your initial post is your current rig then I wouldn't really upgrade, and at the very least wait until you can check out a few benchmarks. From what Rockstar has said you should be able to at least run very high @ 1080p with your current setup.

I agree with Poneros, it seems that GTA V runs well on most systems from testing I've seen so far, the 670 should be able to run at very high without running into vram problems
