Hey,

My mate has just bought a High Def 32" LCD screen and currently has an unlocked and overclocked X800 GTO2. Will this be enough for gaming on such a big screen? He was thinking about maybe getting a new card if needed, maybe a X1900XT. He has an SLi motherboard, so for a little more would 2*7900GT's in SLi be better since its such a big screen?

Prob the SLI is better yes, but aint really read up on as i have no need too :)

Need a price to see what single card to get from Nvidia or ATI or what 2 cards to get for SLI, although I guess he not getting 2 the same as he would if single card, ie not 2 7900GTX 512's lol ££££££££££££££ :p

Obviously cheap as possible, just so long as things run smoothly. He would prefer one ATI card but if 2 cards in SLi is needed then the max budget is £450.

i'd check and see what resolution the hd tv can do first, most atm can only do 1360x768 max unless you forked out a few grand

Doubt it, it will still be same res, just more pixelated on big screen same as you taking photo with a 1megapixel camera and it looks great on A4 paper not any difference from another took on a 5megapixel camera, till you blow them both up to a billboard poster size, then the 1megapixel photo will look like a mozache :p .

Hehe. It'll most likely run better than 1280x1024 since there are less pixels to draw in total.

Resolution is what matters, not physical screen size. There aren't pixies on little step-ladders behind the screen. :p
