Hi, I just bought this card to replace my old one and I'm a bit stuck, after plugging it in my PC started up just fine except the colour was very very faded and no matter how much i mess around with settings the screen stays very faded. I installed the drivers from the disk that came with the card.

My system isn't flashy or anything but has served me quite well for a year and I was pretty sure it could cope with this card, have an Abit IP35 pro mobo and an intel 2.66 dual core, my previous card was an 8800GT and everything seemed to be fine.

WAs just wondering if anyone had any ideas or if anyone has experienced this before.

Cheers

I know you said you played with the settings - have you tried notching up "Digital Vibrance" in the colour section of the nVidia control panel? Every nV card I've had has had fairly dull colours before doing that.

Check the screen connections - I've seen this before and the power to the screen was only half in - enough to change the pixel colours but not enough to power the backlight.

Really appreciate the quick comments, wish I was at home to try it now.

I'll double check the connections, hoping that's the fault! would be brilliant and I'll check settings again maybe I missed something.

Ah my 8800GT was a 512 and kind of broke due to my own stupidity.. your all going to laugh and hate me but basically I had managed to spill a drink down the top fan of my antec 900 and by some miracle the only part with any damage was the gfx card which unfortunately was completely knacked.

I replaced it at the time ( due to lack of cash ) with an 8800GS 256 which and my machine has been working fine with that for a good 6-7 months. I'm mainly an mmo player so this has coped with everything reasonable well but I'm starting to branch out a bit to more games and felt it time to upgrade the gfx, as I use a 24" widescreen i decided on this card.

Sorry for the wall of text, again thanks for replies, will post back later on when I can try it out again!

This was the problem, thanks a lot for the help! Everything is working like a charm now.
