gts 512mb - Low 3Dmark 06 score?

Just ran 3dmark on my 8800gts 512 and got 7500.

Considering the people are htting 17k in the overclocking thread im guessing something is wrong. My specs are

e6600 @ 3.0ghz
2gb geil ultra @ 832mhz
8800gts 512mb @ 700/1800/2000
850w ocz psu

Im using the 169.21 beta drivers and rivatuner to overclock

Any suggestions?
 
thats about the score i get with gts 512 and a single core cpu
so i would look at your cpu mate
 
17k would need a quad core @ 4ghz.... :p

you should be looking at 12-13k. obvious questions really. mobo chipset drivers upto date? latest dx9 novemeber update package installed? i think there is futuremark patch too - check their site. nvidia drivers at default? vsync off?
 
just installed a hotfix and got it to 8500 :(

still seems very slow

I tested the card in another rig running a stock e6600 and it got 10000

very strange, my e6600 at 3.2ghz, with an old 640mb gts @630/1500/2000 scored 11500 odd in o6, you werent by any chance using aa/af for the test or running a higher resolution than reccomended
 
the mobo is a gigabyte ds3r. Not the best board i know but its a bit of a stop gap untill payday

Im 99% sure the pci-e is running at x16 and the 3dmark tests were just the normal ones, i even checked against screen shots from the 8800gts oc'ing thread

You need to give some more info

Individual scores please, print out dxdiag for us. run 3dmark05. mobile pics of bios settings. reinstall windows, try the card elsewhere, different drivers, etc

Have you checked the driver settings in the nvidia control panel? Make sure they're all set to "performance" and that AA is deffo turned off. Go through the options and check first then rerun 06. It could be you're crippling your score with the system trying to run with "quality" settings.:)

Looking through the settings with a toothcomb and noticed they were set to quality.

Re ran 06 and got 12593 :)

Moving from Quality to High performance my 3DMark dont change much if anything, proberbly about 20 3dmarks
 
i knows it does seem strange. I changed the quality settings in nvidia control panel then i changed another slider in rivatuner.

Anyway it works now and thatll do for me lol
 
You didn't by any chance have multi-display acceleration turned on? this can halve your GPU benchmark scores... nVidia have a habit of randomly making it the default in some driver revisions and leaving it on single display acceleration on others...
