Got some unusual problems in GTA SA.

First of all, everything is at max of course, but outside my fps is around 50-70fps, seems far too low for this card, and then when I get in a car, I am driving along and my frame rate goes down to 25-35 and there is extreme stuttering.

anyone got any idea what is going on?

Frame limiter caps it at 25, as you cans ee in my first post I stated it would go down to 25-35. In parts my fps is around 50-70, in carls house I get 128fps.

Is that a no then?

Well I would have thought so, since I am getting 70 in places it obviously means no frame limiter, when it's turned on the fps is capped at 25fps.

Yeah, I know it's capped at 25. No need to give me a sarcy response for trying to help.

I aint been sarcy, I thought it would have been obvious the frame limiter was not on since I did state I was getting 70fps in one point.

Hmm that may be a good point, I've never tried it untill today on my dual core setup.

I aint using that damnd frame limiter, a game that old and running at 25fps, no thanks, too choppy for me.

The frame limiter did stop the stuttering, but 25fps on GTA SA is awfull for me.

I laways had the limiter on, without it I would get stuttering .

I think that you would get stuttering no matter how fast the videocard is, there is something in the game that is limiting fast framerates sometimes.

With my 8800GTS, X800XTPE, 9600np I did not get stuttering...

So you had a constant high framerate, or did you have the limiter on?

I did not have the limiter on, and no I did not have a constant high frame rate.

It must be the dual core CPU's.

No its not, especially when driving in MTA the frame limiter P***** me off as when you looked sideways you could see it being all stuttery, while when gone to sa-mp, it was smooth as silk.

25 fps perhaps is smooth for games like rts etc, but for fast driving games, it definatly isn't, while walking it was unnoticable though, but when driving : need about 35 min. to get it smooth.

Hmm willhub, have you disabled everything in nvidia/ccc panels, ie. set it to let app decide?

Also what ingame AA lvl are you on? Lvl 3 was buggy as hell for me it disappeared textures, killed framerates, etcetc, try aa lvl 2.

I tried Lvl2, still the stuttering, any dual core optimizer for intel CPU's like there is for AMD ones that make some games work better with dual core?

I thought you would have known to disable one of your cores. I got/get awful issues when using both cores, disable one, and it's instantly fine.

I've never disabled any cores before, I dont know how to.

Hmmm, background apps? AV? Some driver disliking SA?
Whats your cpu usage in SA with both and whats your cpu usage with a single core ingame?
Oh and what's your ram usage?

CPU usage with single core was around 50%, with dual core and high priority around 60%.

ram usage was well under 50%

Weird  it plays brilliant on my X1950XT at max settings while im in-car and on foot.

It must be a 2900 thing :(, need to get my hand on those beta drivers lol, gonna do some googling.
