Hello, so I've just purchased GTX 1050 and wondered if anyone is using this or used this and if they have played Mine Craft with it?

If so anyone know what settings to run it on

**I don't play the game myself its for my son for Christmas and want to make sure the game is setup ready for him, however i don't really understand all the settings**

Minecraft? Don't see why that wouldn't have everything you could throw at it. It's not a seriously (graphically) demanding game until you start loading in lots of mods.
See that's what i thought however people are saying the textures and layers can be a little demanding, and also it can be quite CPU heavy

Well from what I've seen of the game i was surprised what people have been telling me, it looks like the worst quality game I've seen for a while lol

Best bit of advice I can give about Minecraft is to quite substantially improve performance install and use Optifine, you can google for this, just grab the one which is applicable to the version you are using (probably the latest one.) This helped me get this running extremely well on my nieces laptop which she had a couple of years ago and that was on an Intel Celeron with on-board graphics.

Minecraft is CPU intensive and not so much GPU, so I'd say put everything on max and see how you go, the only thing you might have to lower or play around with is the 'Chunks' setting to get smooth game play, other than that you should be good to go.
This is brilliant thank you i will try this and see how it goes :)

My lad has my old Q8300 8Gb RAM machine with a GTX580 1.5Gb and it's running beautifully even though I've got texture and shaded mods installed on it, he's only got a 1680x1050 flat screen though which helps I'm sure, that said it runs everything I've tried on it perfectly well and in his words "owns the XBox one!" :D
Sounds good to me :)
