I bought a 1060 three weeks ago to replace a dead 7950 and it is not performing as it should. Using vsync, games often do not look smooth at a solid 60fps and in many games (even undemanding/old games), fps will drop randomly to 57-58fps.
I've tried everything from adjusting power/ render ahead/ vsync etc in nvidia control panel, clean install drivers with DDU, verify games caches, close everything running in background, disabled system overclocks, bios is up to date, even clean installed windows10 but nothing has helped.
With vsync off I get high gpu usage and outright performance is good, but it just isn't a smooth experience much of the time and game appeared smoother on my old card.
There's lot of similar threads on the geforce forums and lots of talk about DPC latency which is Greek to me tbh. Is this something that can be addresssed by nvidia with a driver update? Right now my card is not working as it should and I'm considering sending it back.
