You can't compare the max theoretical between the two.
I figured as much, efficiency and stuff. Just wondering how theoretical and actual performance were with the cards before.

Will the imminent arrival of the 1060 in the budget sector finally kill off AMD ? Early reports state that it's a better performer than the recently released 480X.
Let's be honest, if the 1060 is 15% faster and 15% more expensive, it will be the new lightweight champ.
It will be the new champ for sure for the people who really do care about power consumption.
I find it really odd that AMD pushed the power consumption aspect of their card so much, when they knew it pulled the same amount of juice as a 1070.
It seems like a ridiculous own goal, because now the 1060 can be as good as a 480 whilst sipping 40% less juice!
TBH seeing all the issues Greg is having has put me off the 480.
The new GTX 1060. At the budget beating price of £299 or more. You know it's true.
It's not exactly difficult to predict what the next down down from the 1070 from Nvidia side would be like- £250-£330 price bracket, at around 980 performance but with gimped bus size of may be 192-bit or 128-bit, which make applying AA or running higher than 1080 res suffer greater performance hit.Unfortunately that's probably spot on.
It'll perform ~10% better than the RX480 for ~30% more money and you won't be able to get hold of a reference one for about a month and aftermarket for 2-3.
My predictions.
No SLi with these, they musn't want people besting their 1080 for less money
