GTX 1060

That's a ridiculous comparison; when you buy an Audi you're (usually) paying for a better product, superior build quality, more refinement etc. I own a SEAT Leon, but I'm not deluding myself into believing that it's an A3 with an S on the grille instead of some circles.

Ok mate - as I said your choice. Same parts used across all models. Put together with different trims and different badges. Pay your money take your choice.

Ha!

That's possibly a better comparison in terms of stock speeds (though the same user has several other stock 480 results that are a bit lower). Essentially, the reference cards at sock seem to be performing remarkably similar to each other. Partner cards will be the interesting thing on both sides.

It's going to be a tough choice between DX11 performance (I expect the 1060 will be better for me due to old CPU) and DX12 (I expect the partner 480s will be better)!

Selling up a boxed GTX950 I had around and a GTX960 that's my current GPU in order to fund the 1060. Should be able to limp along on Intel HD graphics for a few weeks ;)

I was in the same boat last month until my 1070 arrived. The only upside is you'll save a small amount off leccy until the new cards arrives lol

Not sure what that's intended to prove. It's a shared platform, it doesn't mean they're all the same car throughout, and it doesn't really relate to the issue of high GPU pricing at all.

I wouldn't believe a thing about those results. Totally unproven.

Any rough idea when prices will be shown for these or be up for pre order on the site? I'm trying to decide between a 480 nitro 8gb or a 1060 and get paid on the 15th. Right now I'm completely stumped onto which one to go for (I don't need to run everything max and am looking at 1080p gaming still while I sort my new rig).

Lolz read through the comments at the bottom of that ridiculous article, people are linking benchmarks from sites like TPU etc that completely ridicule those listed in that article...

Again more clickbait from a worthless site haha

Yea that "leaked" performance figures chart is BS lol. 480 scores well under what they should be from day one review benches. 480 has had couple driver updates since then increasing performance also. Maaaahuuuusive pinch of salt to be taken!

If rumours are to be believed, then you may struggle with 1060 availability.

Probably worth waiting for the 1060 reviews at least, but I wouldn't count on being able to buy one the same day the reviews come out. (Whereas there seems to be no issue with RX480 stock, and custom versions should all be available soon)

Very helpful thanks! 480 it is then!

The rx480 scores are bs when you compare to day 1 benchmarks.

Also that chart was apparently taken from a Chinese forum.

It's not, that does look like the genuine reviewers guide so those are Nvidia run benchmarks, apparently at standard clock speeds, so let me guess, they put the RX480 system inside a sealed room with a heating unit raising the temp to 70C so the card runs at below base clocks throughout due to temps... maybe.

Those numbers if direct from Nvidia are likely best case for 1060, and seemingly beaten by every RX480 review I've seen in general(the numbers are higher for RX480, they wouldn't necessarily beat the 1060 in every case).

Back upon the hype train,choo-choo!

Is someone taking the #### with that ^^^^ seriously?
