I'm hopefully getting my new gtx 1080 soon but have some questions on whether or not using the gtx 970 as a dedicated physx card worth it?

Also what power requirements would that need?

If not worth it I will probably just sell my 970 for some cash.

well, I'll just put it out there ...

you could keep the 970, a couple weeks before1080 TI launches you sell the 1080 and use the 970 until you get the new bad boy :).

of course if you have no interest in 1080 TI, then sell it :)

Hmmm didn't think I'd get much for a 970 if I sold it.

If I just decided to keep it and use it along side the my 1080 how much power would I need. Got a 850 watt psu. That enough?

Depends which 970 you have. If its a reference blower without much warranty left, you'd get £120-140ish. Aftermarket ones with more warranty would go for up to £180.

pointless as adding a dedicated card to PhysX can sometimes hinder performance instead just let the more powerful card render the game and PhysX. Plus PhysX is dead now, sell the 970 and recoup some of the cost back :)
