Hello just after some ideas. My MSI gtx 1080 gaming x plus has had to be returned and I'm being given a full refund of around £500. Now my dilemma is what do I buy now? I'm currently using a 4k TV but that's going to change in the next few months (I got carried away before Xmas). I will be getting a 2k monitor in the next few months.

With nvidias new line up you'll be looking at the 2070 at this price point - improves on 1080 performance but not by a major amount - but it is the new architecture so likely to be better supported by nvidia going forwards.
Unfortunately the 2070 is a little under powered when it comes to ray tracing performance so expect to turn RTX quality settings down and even at 1080P also expect large impact on performance - or not use the feature at all

2080 offers marked improvements performance wise over 1080 but comes in £150-200 more expensive :(
