Hi there

Im after some opinions on the best upgrade to a GTX 1660 super. Its for my sons pc. He has just upgraded to a Dell 1440p moniter and playes Borderlands, battlefield, star citizen, Elden ring and Elite dangerous.

Current spec:
Gigabyte B550m Aorus Pro
Ryzen 5 3600
16gig corsair ram
M.2 drive
Asus gtx 1660 super evo
PSU Corsair CX550F RGB

Budget is tight so I dont mind second hand but dont want to spend more than £300 new or £250 used. I can get the VAT back on a new card. I also dont really want to buy a more powerful PSU.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

New, these are all options:
- 6750 XT (maybe, getting hard to find)
- 4060
- 3060 12GB
- 7600 XT
- Arc B580

The 4060 has the best power consumption, but only 8GB of VRAM.

There's a video comparing it to the 3060 12GB here (can skip to final thoughts):

I'd go for the Arc, as it seems the best all-round compromise on performance, power, features and VRAM.

Thanks for your reply's, I have been looking at the Arc. Would the PSU be ok to run the Arc580?

Do you have Members Market access? You've got a high enough post count, but there are other requirements.

You could put in a GPU request and probably get more for your money than going new.

I used to be on there until they changed the stupid rules lol

Just looking through different forums and it looks like the Arc cards are not compatible with VR. I didn’t even think to mention it as my son has a Quest 3. Is this true?

If you want to save a few quid then have a look in the grade section on OCUK and you can make Robbie an offer.

Maybe an offer of £250 for this

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £387.98 (includes delivery: £7.99)
