The core on the Asus is not only faster, the memory is 300mhz faster too. Definitely the better choice.

Two 260s in SLi would blow a 285 away.

yea thats what im thinking

according to this bench, they will blow sli 285 as well :D http://techreport.com/articles.x/16229/12

is there also a chance that 260s will drop more in price? Or its good time to buy them now? And do i have any future proof? Couple years would be great.

Also about xfx black edition card, is it worth extra 17 pounds over asus?

You would probably get a good while out of them, but everything is upgrading now Windows 7 is about to be released, all the new DDR3 ram, i7 cores, DX11 cards soon too, it would be good to buy now to bridge the gap between now and pretty much a new system...

When windows 7 is out and seems good to have, i will be getting a new system entirely.

well actually, i ve got i7 and everything now, and graphics card is only thing i ve got left to get. And i dont know if i should wait for gt300, they will probably be delayed, and then very expensive.

thats why i was thinking about 285, it would be easier to sell a single newer card, than two older cards :/ but then again, they cost same, and sli is better performance
