Hi all,

I purchased and installed my BFG GTX280, and instantly found a very strange issue...

whenever i reboot the PC and start windows, all my Icons at the bottom and right of my screen get moved from their positions to somewhere in the middle of the screen.

it's as if the card is making windows boot up at 1280 x 1024 res (causing the icons to move) and then quickly changing back to my normal 2560 x 1600 desktop res afterwards.

it doesn't effect me, but it is bloody annoying!

anybody have any reason why it would be doing this? i randomly thought it might be a power issue so i gave my card 3 dedicated PCIE rails to work with (2 for the 8 pin adapter, and 1 dedicated 6pin pcie rail for the second slot)

Though this doesn't seem to have fixed the issue, any ideas?

I have this exact same problem with another card, i can't explain it but it's damn annoying. Especially when i organise the icons and then when i boot up again it looks as if my computer has thrown up....

i dont have any desktop items, iv got everything really important in an object dock, which auto hides, so i cna see ym full background, i dont mind the extra two clicks it toes to find something when i can have a lovely nice tidy desktop :D

Have you tried playing with the auto arrange and align to grid, etc. options? I don't get this problem myself.

Only thing I can think of is that 2560x1600 requires dual-link DVI, so perhaps the card is starting in non-dual-link mode and thus can't drive the screen at full resolution, then the driver switches it to dual-link to obtain the right res?

Just a guess.
