I have just installed two new Zotac GeForce GTX 280 AMP 1024MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

On to a Asus Striker II Extreme nForce 790i Ultra SLi motherboard.

Linked them up to the 750w Corsair PSU. one 6 and one 8 pin connection

Following the instuction booket to its placement requirements and placed the SLI top cable on to the top.

Put the power on and they both show a green light.

However when I plug themonitor in none are showing an image.

Is this new all new kit?

My best advice would be to test each card on its own first, just to make sure everything is ok before you go for the full setup.

That sometimes happened to me when i changed my GTX 8800's round (SLI), I can't get a signal to monitor if the dvi cable is on the bottum GFX card, it only works on the top one. Also, if it doesn't work then, I turn my monitor off (samsung 226bw) long enough for it to not "display" a signal (even though i can't see the signal - 15 secs is about the time i turn the monitor off for.), once i turn my monitor on again, i get signal to monitor and all is fine.

I would question 750 watts to run two GTX 280's properly though, as they require lots of power under load (but very low idle i hear)

Same as Antx777 said. 750w may not be enough, i'd personally get atleast a 850w for two of them.

You could also try taking one card out and see if you get a signal, then try the other card again on it's own to make sure both cards work. If it works with one card it's possibly the PSU not having enough power.

I agree with above. I'm running 850W with just one card !.

Also DO NOT plug/unplug the monitor leads while the system is powered, video leads are not hot-pluggable !. Recently had a chap in tears with a dead laptop VGA port due to the same...

Regards

I've been changing VGA/DVI leads with the PC powered on for over a decade and never had trouble. Must have done it on over 50 computers...

Maybe he means graphics cards aren't hot plugable? :p :D

I've been taking out and plugging back monitor cables while the PC is powered up since I can remember.
