Hi all,

I'm building my system around Feb 22nd (Pay Day) and my budget will be around £2400. What I want to know is, should I buy a GTX280 now while they're cheaper or wait until I buy all my parts? The money I'd save on a GTX now would accommodate a nice water block for it too.

What is the GTX 285? Is it just a GTX280 refresh? If so I'll just wait for that. Not interested in the GTX 295.

Thanks all,

RoEy

With that budget, get at least 2 ;)

Honestly, with that amount of money to spend, wait until the gtx295's come down in price, which should be around the time you'll be building the whole PC.

The gtx285 is the replacement for the 280, it's meant to run cooler and use less power, so should overclock better.

Just out of curiosity, why are you not interested in the 295?

Thanks for info everyone.

Don't really like dual cards plus I want to watercool it so it means waiting for another water block.

Would a GTX280 water block fit a GTX 285?

Thanks,

RoEy

Edit - Sorry, I meant a GTX285.
