GTX 280 temperature extremely high

I was playing a game of BF2 just now when i looked at the temp of my card and it was at 113C!, it sits around 75 in game usually.. the fan is still spinning and it didn't shut down.

I'm wondering if the sensor could have broken or something?, it's a gainward btw.

Could be a faulty card, loads of them doing the rounds.

Just reseated it and its normal temps again using ati tool to stress it, wonder if it is on the way out or just some random thing.. i'm getting a 4870x2 anyway so will get a refund if this is buggered.

nVidia seriously need to sort out their QA.

They have sorted it.

All cards that run that hot are to be replaced, EVGA did it months ago.

If the owner messes about that's their fault and if they remove a cooler from a non EVGA card then they have just borked their warranty.

All replacement cards run far cooler, ie in the 80's on load.

Its amazing what you can learn by reading on the web each day and visiting forums like EVGA's.
