GTX 280 temps

ok, here are the 3Dmark06 results:
Idle temps: 44,38,40

3D Mark 06:

Proxy 67,57,54
Fire 75,65,55
Boat 77,64,58
Snow 77,66,58

But when I checked log file from GPU-Z I had in every test similar temps and they were 85-88, 67-74, 50-60.
Fan was idle - 1400 on first test, Proxy. Then started to spin up on every test to about 2000.

So, basicaly temps are too high for fan at 100% speed. Aren't they?

Next test.. again... Crysis Warhead benchmark: 1920-1200, no AA, 1 loop, ambush.
90, 80, 57. fan max at 3112, which is almost 100%.

Definately looks like it is running hot mate. Its shouldn't be running full fan.

Is max fan 2000 RPM I thought it topped out about 1580 ish?

My first BFG OC ran hot. 120'c before locking the computer. It reached that temp in around 20 seconds running furmark with full fan.

I would RMA the card or if you can't reseat the heatsink.

I decided to RMA it. It took 2 weeks to get new one, cause they didnt have them in stock:((

Today, brand new GTX280 was delivered a minute ago. Started it and have to say this one LOOKS like its fine.
Idle temp GPU - 35C (its pretty cold in the room).
ATI TOOL with hairy cube made it go up to 64C BUT fan stayed at 40% (1389 rpm)of speed ALL time
Now, Furmark, benchmarking test GPU temp and fan speed:

* 1st minute - 67C, fan 40%
* 2nd minute - 78C, fan 50%
* 3rd minute - 80C, fan 55%
* 4th minute - 81C, fan 56%
* 5th minute - 81C, fan 56%
...
* 10th minute - 81C, fan 56%

THAT is one perfect working card I'm happy.. will use it for a week and install Aquagrafx GTX280 block
