GTX 285 / 295 numbers over at the Inq

Hm, they don't really tell us a lot to be honest. We know they're going to be faster than either a GTX260 or 9800 GTX+.

Yeah 285 looks ok. Min 10% gain over 260-216 as expected really. 295 is ultra high end and up to 100% quicker which is ok. Does not matter about comparing to ATI as everyone already knows how 260-216 vs 4870 or 4870X2 vs GTX280 goes.

Looking over all those figures it would seem 285 is around 5-7% faster than stock 280s which is about right as its only a refresh anyway.

40nm is the next NV bad boy worth waiting for unless you have to upgrade now. 295 is unlikely to be available in large volume anyway and effectively 2 x 260-216s so just buy 2 of those & SLI them for similar performance (X58 gives almost perfect SLI scaling which is why the 295 figures are almost 2 x 260-216s results!!.

I quite like their 'stick it to the man' type attitude though.

'We aren't NDA'd, nor are we afraid of being cut off, so we won't stick to their 'recommended' list of things to show you. Enjoy, unless you are NDA'd, then call Nvidia and vent.'

I would imagine there's a load of other journos pee'd off with him today!

Didnt expect it in an article like that, but what we really need is a comparison between a stable overclocked 285, and 280, as would imagine (hope) the 285 can be pushed quite a bit further, but need actual differences that push makes in games.
