Hi,

I have a MB gigabyte ga-p35-ds4 and i think it only has PCIe x16 and not 2.0.

At the gigabyte web site the spec only says PCIe x16.

I am changing to a GTX 285 video card.

Does it require a MB with PCIe 2.0 X16? If no, is there any performance loss if the MB does not have PCIe 2.0?

Thanks,

BR Anders

They are backwards compatible, so it'll be fine. In terms of performance you may loose 1/2% in benches but nothing noticeable in the real world :)

It doesn't require a v.2 PCIe slot to work.

The performance loss will be minimal if any, maybe 1% max depending on what resolution you play at.

edit: Do'h beaten to it!

No graphics card requires PCI-E 2.0, but it can bring a small performance increase on some configurations.
