gtx 285 physix?

i have a spare gtx285 highest manufacturer o/c BFG OCFU from previous card generation.

would it aid or hamper 2-way or even 3-way sli EVGA 670 FTW as an dedicated physix card??

bearing in mind its sitting in a box doing nothing.

I doubt it will do much with your Tri-SLI 670 setup since it's a powerful setup. Not many games have PhysX anyway. Don't bother, it will just be wasting power.

As mentioned, it don't think it will help much if at all, since you are using a powerful GPU setup as it is. It would just waste power, PCI-e bandwidth and create more heat inside the case- the negatives outweigh the positives. Keep the card, maybe one day it will become a rare antique worth millions to a technology museum.

I'm still keeping my old Pentium 4 (doesn't take up much room anyway), maybe one day it'll become a rare item
