$379 seems to be the going rate at the big US stores. After exchange rate conversion the price is £259, but with 15% VAT it hits £298. Add a bit of launch "padding" and I guess £329 will be the the low end of UK prices. This is far too close to 4870x2 pricing and too far away from the GTX260 216SP for it to be a worthwhile option.

...saves my money and awaits the next big thing.

digital power instead of analogue, Like the Evga SSC edition of the GTX280

interesting, this may swing it for me as the 295 is squealing more than my old 260 and that was annoying.

intersting to see how well they clock as the standard clocks are a fair bit higher, but then again most 280's would get around those clocks anyway.

Hi Tom, what PSU you running the 295 off of? I run 3 x 260 216s on a HX1000 and they make the next to no sound on this. On a 850w and 550w PSU one of the 260s would scream its head off. In things like GTR Evo the sound from the card sounded more like an engine than a graphics card.

I thought the idea of die shrunk refreshes was also to pass reduced costs on to consumer. I know this is below launch price of the 280, but AMD/ATI pricing changed all that and it is above current 280 pricing if you look (not even hard). I didn't expect it to be lower than than OCUK's stock clearance of 280's first week in Jan, but around £250-£275 inc VAT

Plus that is still more than a 4850X2, which is faster.
