GTX 295 question

I have a GTX 295 and it fully heats my room to around 28+ degrees celcius, is this normal??? I tried to watercool it but because i have used it some of the screws just wouldnt come out so i presumed they are firmly set in place lol. Anyone else experienced this?

BTW my GTX 295 idles at just under 60 degrees celcius, is that normal or high?

The GTX 295 is a hot card - 289W max TDP. Couple that with an overclocked CPU + PSU then you may well be kicking out half a kilowatt of heat into your room when playing games. If it is a small room and/or your window is closed then this will certainly act as a heater. My PC (see sig) certainly raises the temperature of my room so I almost always have my window open.

As for watercooling it I haven't tried removing the stock cooler so I can't give you advise on how to do that. However, are you watercooling it to reduce the noise, overclock it further or reduce the heat in your room? If it is for reducing the heat in your room then this will only work if you arrange it so that the radiator is in another room or outside.

Mine is running at 57 degrees idle, so 60 should be fine (especially as you are further south).
 
your room would be a sauna with a 480gtx. As above the 295 is a hot running card. Yes its normal. My 9800GT used to idle at about 60 in a case with only an exhaust fan.

Well I was going to watercool it to reduce the heat, but you think it won't reduce the heat output? surely it will be cooler, and there is no fan to push the hot air out?
 
It will reduce the temperature of the card, for sure. But it you are not overclocking, then I wouldn't worry about the temperature - it may seem hot but the chip is designed to operate at these temperatures. As a water block (and the rest of the WC stuff) will cost quite a bit of money, then I don't know if it is worth it just to reduce the temperature of the chip. Though it will reduce the noise of the system - which is always nice.

However, are you meaning the heat in relation to the chip (ie GPU temperature) or in relation to your room temperature?

The heat has to go somewhere, and on a watercooled system it goes to the radiator and the radiator is cooled down by fans. (number depending on size of radiator)

That heat from the radiator is then blown out into the room, and unless it is released from there the room will get just as hot as it did before.
 
hey i water cooled because i wanted to overclock, lower noise, and lower room temps and it has done all that

i also have every hot water pipe running through my room for some reason so my room gets way to warm

the air that exits my rads is quite cool just make sure u have fresh air coming into the room
