GTX 295 Shadow/Texture Flicker

Hey,

Fired up my GTX295 last night for the first time and noticed some shadow/texture flicker although only in specific games so far (COD4 has no issues).

In Crysis Warhead i'm getting a select few bushes flicker in the distance, if you zoom in they stop flickering and a couple further away start. Which leads me to assume it's some sort of anisotropic filtering issue?

In GTA4, shadows flicker/flash and the only way to stop it is to disable shadows altogether.

I've changed negative LOD bias from Allow to Clamp which has made no difference. All games are patched to the latest and upon installing display drivers i done my usual double driver sweep and reboot.

Have any fellow 295/SLI owners/users managed to solve these problems?

I am using the latest drivers (190.62 and the SLI Profile Update #2) with the following settings.

Perhaps try underclocking the card a bit with Rivatuner, maybe the F-T-W edition you have ain't liking the high frequencies much. If all fine, send it back.

I'll have a try at that and report back, was hoping it was a known issue that i'd just missed a solution for.

The crysis flicker problem has been reported before (its a z-buffer issue I think) - I belive its teh same on call cards.

Not sure about GTA4 tho.

Well i just lowered the memory to stock and it still does it, which in a way i'm glad. The further away you go as the certain bushes disappear they stop doing it, closer you get they do it until solid and fine which makes sense about it being a buffering issue i suppose.

GTA4 i read up on apparently has major issues with ATI and shadows, something to do with the way shadows are rendered. Changing negative LOD to clamp is supposed to solve it for nVidia cards/setups but didn't for me.

Think both issues are related to depth buffer limitations at higher quality settings with higher draw distances :S

My settings are the exact same as before, never had any issues with the single gtx260 ocx :s.

Have you encountered these issues with your SLI setup by any chance?

Fraid I've not played crysis only benchmarked it and staying away from GTA4 coz of the crap you have to install and run to play the game :( I've not seen it in any other game...

I see, well GTA4 has graphical glitches regardless, if you haven't encountered it in any other games and i've not had it in COD4 then i guess it's pretty much specific to these games/engines. Cheers :)
