GTX 460 Noise

I'm about to buy either the 768mb or 1gb version from the refurbs section.

So before I buy whats the noise like on these? Are they whisper quiet or do they sounds like a an F16?

My PC is in the living room so noise is a huge factor for me.

My card is pretty quite, considering my case has a lot of fans, the graphics card is probably the only thing I cant hear.

I've got the MSI GTX 460 OC and it's pretty loud. You also get some pretty bad coil whine under load.

I have the same card and I dont think its loud, only when the fan hits 90-100% then yeah, but I've never seen my GPU go above 60c...So its never hit 90% on the fan speed.

My old man has the Palit Sonic 460 768mb version, and it's pretty silent. It's the one with the orange fan in the middle.

Don't think I could live with that. Coil whine is definitely something that would make me want to destroy my PC.

I had a passive WC setup before upgrading to my current build so to me it's loud. To others it might not be. The coil whine is definitely noticeable though, especially when overclocked.
