Been messing about with custom fan settings for my 470's, set a profile in afterburner of 65% fan speed at 70c, temps at 66-64c ono in game, (bfbc2). 70-66c in heaven. They normally top out at 80-77c ono on auto fan setting. Noise is actually pretty mild, not a problem at all when gaming as i wear noise cancelling headphones. Am i right in thinking that auto fan should also be enabled in afterburner as well as the user defined setting. Cards are clocked at 751/1502/1674 on stock voltage of 0.987.

Yeah I have the 'auto' box enabled as well as the green suer defined 'banner' in afterburner. I think this means it will just automatically adjust to your defined fan profile.

Out of interest what idle temps are you getting?

Yep, working fine guys, i had to leave the system running as i was encoding some video, fan profile kicked in fine after a restart.

EDIT:Idle temps of 31-29c ono.
