Yeah, it's a lot better to take your time and get everything done. I ordered my stuff on August 25th. I wanted to finish by 6th September. I finished 2 days ago 
GTX 470 screw problems

Hahaha well I hope I can get it build a bit quicker than that, don't know if I could cope with no computer for that long haha. I have no plans any evening and delibrately made no plans for this weekend so I am hoping I will have enough time.

My jewelyry friend re cut the head of the screw just enough to be able to get a flat bladed screw driver on it. The board is immaculate still.
One question though, cut the thermal pads slightly wrong and don't have enough of the one listed number 1 which goes on the chips, missing one chip. However I do have a square of number 2 big enough, can I use this or do I need to work something else out?

Seeing as all thermal pads are the same thickness, it should be fine. Just make sure that they're cut correctly. ie: the ones that have to be individually cut, and the ones that have to be cut in strips
yes they are all cut to shape, just I think I cut them a bit too big as the last bit for the last chip only covers about 1/2 - 2/3 of it but I have enough of the other left to cover it. Guess I will use that then, once that done it block on time.
What method did he use to cut the screw? I had a thought that if you took a dremel with one of the non reinforced cutting disks, a well used one with a worn small diameter, you could get right into the screw without risking overcutting the card due to the overlap of a fresh cutting disk.
It was like a dremel but a smaller than dremels I have seen and he was using what looked liked a really small routing tool, just a small diameter abrasive tool. He put it in the middle of the screw where the old philips head was a re channels just enough to get a small flat bladed screwdriver on it. The screw is totally ruined now though but at least its out so I can re attached stock heatsink if I need to.
